Photographing Joy and Cody was such an honor and JOY (clearly), because I've known Joy all of her life. We both grew up in the same New Mexico town and went to the same church and youth group. I feel like I watched her grow up. But then that concept is weird to me, because the age gap seems so small now that she's a beautiful young lady who's engaged! And I couldn't be happier for her and more tickled to save these sweet memories for the two of them.
I've watched Joy and Cody date for a while now, and there's one thing I've been able to tell from afar and that is: that Cody, he sure loves Joy well. I don't have any doubt that this will change unless it grows deeper and deeper throughout the years to come. And I have a feeling that Joy's beaming smile will turn sweeter and sweeter as their joy runs deeper. They have the best years to look forward to, and I'm so glad they have each other's hands to hold throughout them! They're a team and a precious one at that!
Cody is a welder at Ditch Witch, and I thought it was the COOLEST addition to their session that he welded their wedding date to hold in a picture---umm YES!! I love that it was a special, unique feature that Cody put his time and creativity into. I'm sure they'll save that special sign forever, and it'll be such a fun reminder of the time they were newly engaged and all of the excitement that it held.
I'm so grateful Cody and Joy made the trek from Oklahoma to Dallas for their engagement session, because we had gorgeous light, weather and a lush, natural location that they made look extra lovely! Joy's smile just radiates throughout their engagement session, and you'll notice it growing bigger the times Cody hugs her, which I feel is just the sweetest thing. She is so beautiful! They truly were so easy and so much fun to photograph.
I can hardly wait for December!!
